Erick Stewart, president of Stewart Industries, said initial work with Battle Creek Unlimited led them to Economic Gardening, back when the program was in its early stages.
“We got engaged and looked at rebranding,” Stewart said. “Everything we needed was offered through Economic Gardening. It was stuff we couldn’t afford to do on our own.”
Once accepted, Stewart went through the first part of the Economic Gardening process—a phone call with a research team leader to explain the process. It was the second part, a conference call with the entire research team, when Stewart really began to realize what this program could do.
